A message from the Sarah Circle on their next meeting on October 21, 2020.
During October all Asbury members and visitors are being encouraged to try out various groups to enhance their spiritual walks and church involvement. Why not try a United Methodist Women’s circle? How about the Sarah Circle? We are a diverse group, but most of us have young adult children and some are blessed with grandchildren. We welcome all women to join us!
Normally, the Sarah Circle meets the 3rd Wednesday of the month at 6:30PM at Asbury and gathers offsite for breakfast the first Friday of the month. During COVID, we have often met via Zoom, however, in the fall we decided to schedule outdoor meetings. Our next meeting will be on OCTOBER 21st starting at 6:30PM. We are convening at the home of Shirley Nylund (contact the group below to get location information). We will MASK and sit socially distanced. An additional attraction will be a campfire, complete with s’mores! Bring your sweet tooth!
We will be discussing the book Black and White: Disrupting Racism one Friendship at a Time, written by Teesha Hadra and John Hambrick, the folks that Pastor Eric interviewed in January 2020. Shirley Nylund will lead us on October 21st as we discuss chapters 1-3. Don’t feel you must have a book to try us out. FYI: We rotate leadership, so there is always the possibly of volunteering!
Fellowship is an integral part of our group as are service opportunities. Usually, we enjoy several recreational outings throughout the year and in December and June we have dinner meetings just for fun. With COVID, we’ll be getting creative, however, so stay tuned! Sound interesting?
