Named after Sarah (an older mother who LAUGHS), the Sarah Circle meets both on- and off-site, in-person, hybrid, and via Zoom. Meetings focus on discussion of a chosen study book with an occasional special program. Fellowship is an integral part of the group. In December and June the group meets for dinner and enjoys several fun outings throughout the year. Monthly meetings are hybrid, which allows members who have moved, or have other restrictions, to continue participating. At Christmas, the group adopts a family in need. Most members have adult children in their 20’s and 30’s. Some are blessed with grandchildren. The group welcomes new members… especially those who laugh! Sarah Circle celebrated its 30th year in 2022.
Priscilla Circle will meet on Tuesday, May 12, at 7:00 PM in Room 217
Carlen Blackstone will be the group leader for the evening, exploring the topic “Navigating Diverse Christian Perspectives.” All women are welcome.

Women, don’t miss this opportunity to fellowship and celebrate the Christmas season! This year’s UWIF Christmas Luncheon will be held on Sunday, December 7 in the Wesley Center following the 11 AM worship service. Entertainment will be provided by a string quartet from Parkland High School. This annual luncheon is a great time for Asbury ladies and guests to enjoy fellowship, have a wonderful meal, and hear some delightful Christmas music – a great way to start the Christmas season!

Cyndi Frank will lead discussion on the book The Journey/Walking the Road to Bethlehem by Adam Hamilton.
Following the lesson, there will be a time of fellowship with Christmas cookies and light snacks. Members may bring a snack to share.

The P.E.P. (People Enjoying People) Club is made up of adults of all ages (male and female) and centers around fellowship and entertainment, with a shared devotional time as well.

Each member brings something unique and provides care, love, and support for each other.

Is it possible to disagree politically and love unconditionally? The reaction of evangelicals to political and cultural shifts in recent years revealed what they value most. Lurking beneath our Bible-laced rhetoric, faith claims, books, and sermons is a relentless drive to WIN! But the church is not here to win. By every human measure, our Savior lost. On purpose. With a purpose. And we are his body. We are not in it to win anything. We are in it for something else entirely. That something else is what this book is about.
“Not in it to Win It” is a 3-week book-based study led by Pastor Eric. Meetings are Tuesdays, 6:30 PM – 7:30 PM, from November 1 – 15 at Asbury (room TBD).

“Almost Christmas: A Wesleyan Advent Experience” by Magrey deVega, Ingrid McIntyre, April Casperson, and Matt Rawle explores the commitment we can make to Christ during this Advent season: not being satisfied with “almost,” but striving for “altogether.” This book was inspired by a sermon given by John Wesley in 1741, titled “The Almost Christian,” in which Wesley encouraged people to follow Christ wholeheartedly, centering around the idea that we should not be satisfied with being almost Christian but rather strive towards being altogether a Christian.

They enjoy lunching together on a regular basis and enjoy periodic field trips together. New members are always welcome.
