Asbury Church welcomes your inquiry about the sacrament of baptism and we look forward to assisting your family with planning this meaningful and memorable occasion.
Persons of all ages, including non-members, can be baptized at Asbury. The United Methodist Church recognizes baptisms from other faiths and churches; therefore there is no need to be “re-baptized” if you are joining Asbury. Non-members are encouraged to seek membership after being baptized. We baptize by sprinkling holy water to invite the presence of the Holy Spirit.
Baptisms can usually be scheduled during any Sunday service except for the first Sunday of the month. Please complete and submit the Baptism Request Form or call the church office for more information and to schedule a meeting with one of our pastors.
A wedding is the Christian celebration of a couple’s love and commitment to each other and to God. By choosing to be married by a representative of God’s Church, you are inviting God’s presence into your wedding and purposely asking for God’s blessing upon the marriage. At Asbury Church, we want to minister to you through your wedding service.
In preparation for your special day, you will meet with one of our pastors to discuss this sacred covenant you’re entering into with God and one another. Asbury will also provide you with a wedding coordinator to guide you through planning every aspect of your ceremony.
For additional information, please complete and submit the Wedding Request Form or contact the church office.
Asbury Church serves our faith community in a number of ways, including care before, during and after the loss of a loved one.
When a death is imminent, our Congregational Care Ministry is honored to come and pray with you. Please call the church office and we will make every effort to have someone come to you. If someone is needed after office hours, our on-call personnel will return your message as soon as possible.
When a death has occurred, our pastors and church staff would also be honored to provide the service for your loved one at Asbury, a funeral home or graveside depending on the family’s preference.
In a quiet corner in front of the church is Asbury’s Memorial Garden, the resting place for the cremains of members and families. Informational is available upon request at the church office along with policy information and subscription forms.
For more information regarding funeral or memorial planning, please contact the church office at 610-398-2577.
