Being part of a group provides us with opportunities to connect with each other; to share the journey of knowing, loving and serving God; and to help us grow in our relationship with Jesus. Together we engage in studies and discussions that grow our faith, serve through mission projects, and participate in other ministries.

We are passionate about small groups and we want to see everyone get connected. Regardless of how frequently you attend worship, how long you have been a member, or where you may be on your faith journey, being a part of a small group will bless you and this church family!

FAMILY FUN & FELLOWSHIP (F3)

When: July 27, 11 AM – 12 PM and August 17, 10:30 AM-12 PM (gatherings begin after the preceding worship service) (more dates will be added through 2025)

Where: Wesley Center at Asbury

About the Group: Join other families to spend time together in a relaxed, welcoming environment, and with space for kids to play The Wesley Center will always serve as the group’s starting point, but when the weather is nice, the group may head outside for some fresh air and fun. Whether you’re new to Asbury or have been a member for a while, F3 is a great way to get to know other families and strengthen our church community.

About the Group: Beer, Conversation, and God… Brewology is a small group open to any and all conversation about faith, held offsite at Hops at the Paddock in Allentown.

CHRYSALIS CLASS

(Sunday School)

When: Sundays, 9:30 AM – 10:30 AM

About the Group: The Chrysalis Sunday School class is a meeting place for adults to share, discuss and explore a variety of topics including: religion, church, society, history, spirituality, art and leadership. The Chrysalis class is largely self-led and self-directed. Sometimes a single question can trigger deep discussion about the topic for that Sunday. Generally, we study narrow topics for 2 weeks and then shift to a different topic. The schedule of topics is developed by the class and attendees vote on the topics to generate a schedule with the most interest to the most participants. The class meets every Sunday morning at the Sunday School hour throughout the year.

PIONEERS CLASS

(Sunday School)

When: Sundays, 2 class offerings: 8:45 AM and 9:45 AM

About the Group: The Pioneers are a group of adults that have been meeting since 1978 to learn more about God in an adult Sunday School setting. Typical topics include: discussing the previous week’s sermon, doing Bible study, viewing and discussing DVD materials from well-known pastors, and inviting missionaries to talk with our class. The group prefers a discussion format and tries to avoid lecture formats. They have a monthly social activity like going on an easy hike, going out to dinner, going to a play at Parkland High School, singing Christmas carols to assisted living facilities, etc. New attendees are always welcomed. There are about 40 people on the group’s member list and a typical Sunday there are 15-25 people attending. Coffee and snacks are always served on Sunday mornings.

About the Group: The Walk and Talk Group meets monthly to refresh the body and the soul through exercise and conversation. Dogs and strollers are welcome; and the trail is handicapped accessible.

When: Weekly on Thursday, 9:30 AM

About the Group: The Deborah Circle meets weekly on Thursday mornings and most members have adult children in their 20’s & 30’s. Most have grandchildren. The focus of this group is Bible Study. Members also enjoy helping and supporting each other, and helping people in need throughout the church and community. They also take part in UWIF and service-related projects. They enjoy lunching together on a regular basis and enjoy periodic field trips together. New members are always welcome.

About the Group: The Susanna Circle holds meetings covering a variety of contemporary topics and issues of interest to church women. Circle members enjoy a warm camaraderie and welcomes newcomers. Social events include a fall outing, Christmas party, winter banquet, and summer picnic. Members are a variety of ages.

About the Group: The Priscilla Circle focuses on Bible Study through a book series with members and outside speakers leading the group. Socials include a “Soup and Salad Night” and a “Summer Picnic.” Members are a variety of ages. The group’s 2023-2024 program study year focus is the book “John: The Gospel of Light and Life” by Adam Hamilton.

SARAH CIRCLE

When: Monthly meetings – 3rd Wednesday @ 6:45PM

In-person Breakfast Social – 1st Friday @ 8AM

About the Group: Named after Sarah (an older mother who LAUGHS), the Sarah Circle meets both on- and off-site, in-person, hybrid, and via Zoom. Meetings focus on discussion of a chosen study (book or video) with an occasional special program. Fellowship is an integral part of the group. In December and June the group meets for dinner and enjoys several fun outings throughout the year. Monthly meetings are hybrid, which allows members who have moved, or have other restrictions, to continue participating. At Christmas, the group adopts a family in need. Most members have adult children in their 20’s and 30’s. Some are blessed with grandchildren. The group welcomes new members… especially those who laugh! Sarah Circle celebrated its 30th year in 2022.
