Join your fellow Asbury members to cheer on the Lehigh Valley IronPigs on Friday, August 28! Tickets are only $13 per person. The game versus the Syracuse Mets will begin at 6:45 PM. Transportation is not provided.

Submit payment for your ticket via Asbury’s online giving portal, Pushpay (asburylv.org/givenow ; select “Lehigh Valley Iron Pigs” from the drop-down menu). Checks can also be mailed to or dropped off at the church office during business hours.

Tickets will be sent via email in advance of the game.

Join the Asbury community for a fun-filled springtime festival.

Please join us in the Wesley Center for lunch – as well as for some additional outside activities – on Sunday, May 31, following the special 10 AM worship service celebrating our new Confirmands.

There will be food and entertainment including a balloon twister, a bouncy obstacle course, and a car show! Bring a side dish or dessert to share and come out to enjoy fellowship with the Asbury community as we welcome the warmer weather.

REGISTER AND LET US KNOW IF YOU CAN BRING SOMETHING!

Saturday, December 6, 4 PM – 6 PM

Reflect on the true meaning of Christmas at our Drive-Through Live Nativity!
Through stations located around Asbury’s parking lot, you’ll take the journey to the manger, culminating in the birth of Jesus. You’ll experience the words of the prophets welcoming in and prophesying about the coming Messiah, the angels singing to the unsuspecting shepherds, who, themselves, are excited to go to Bethlehem to see the Good News the angels sang of, and the manger where Mary and Joseph adore Jesus, who has come to earth.

Entrance will be into the second floor parking lot off of Springhouse Road (the entrance is just off of the intersection of Springhouse Road and Walbert Avenue).
All are invited!

A free-will donation will be accepted to support the Refugee Community Center at Church of the Mediator in Allentown.

We’re currently seeking volunteers to assist with this event!

The initial volunteer opportunities include but are not limited to:

Acting – shepherds, Mary & Joseph
Carolers/Singers – heavenly host/angels
Traffic Directors
Hospitality – cookie makers, internal hospitality for those acting and singing outside, folks to hand out the goodie bags with invitations to Christmas Eve services and other upcoming Advent/January events
Runners/Troubleshooters – folks to help with anything else that comes up

Our friends from the Al-Ahad Islamic Center, who are sharing our building as they construct a new worship facility, extend the following invitation to attend “The Arbaeen Exhibit”:

Peace be upon you.

With a heart full of respect and unity, we cordially invite you and the Asbury congregation to join us for a special exhibit honoring the historic events of Karbala and the spiritual pilgrimage of Arbaeen. This is more than an exhibition; it’s an opportunity to foster understanding and bridge gaps between our faiths.

Event Highlights:

- - Over 12 Thematic Exhibits: Dive deep into the captivating history, traditions, and significance of Arbaeen and Karbala. Our exhibits are designed to educate, inspire, and create dialogue.
  - Mawkibs Stations (Tents): Immerse yourself in the generous spirit of the Mawkibs, as they provide traditional food, drinks, and services to all attendees, reminiscent of their role during the Arbaeen pilgrimage.

Heart and Hand Mission Trip (July 2022)

2022 Heart & Hand Mission Trip

When: July 17 to July 22, 2022

Where: Philippi, West Virginia

For information on our partner: Heart and Hand House | And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God. – Micah 6:8

To honor Asbury’s long-standing partnership with Heart and Hand House in Philippi, West Virginia; Asbury will be undertaking a work week in July to assist with home repairs in Barbour County. The trip will be a construction focused trip that will be open to adults (male and female) and senior high youth that are accompanying a parent or guardian.

Details:

Accommodations the group will be staying in a local church, so everyone will need to bring bedding, and we will supply a love offering

Food It is anticipated that food will be handled through community dining within the team, we are seeking team members who would focus on this area

Schedule:

Daily (M-F): 8-5 at the work site

Can I attend for just part of the week?: YES!

How you can serve:

Kitchen Queens & Kings these are the angels who prepare the meals and ensure “home base” is stocked and ready for those on the worksite

Logistics Specialists these are the intrepid adventurers who make the supply runs to obtain those items that the project planners failed to acquire before the need arose

Toolpersonsthese are the folks that will undertake the construction tasks; which may range from carpentry to painting

OtherHave a desire to be in service? Contact the coordinators and they’ll help get you connected to the team

(Note – given the relative “skill” levels of the organizers, being willing and adaptable are the two highest value traits )
