Life is full of unexpected events and the kindness and support of others makes a powerful impact. Asbury’s Health Ministry will share information and demonstrations on the power and support of others through caring; and the hugs often needed to cope with daily life experiences. Doris Farrar, a member of the Health Ministry team, explains: “hugs often are the first step in gaining trust and finding a way to seek help for the situation. The team will offer blood pressure screening before and after the experience.” Additional information will also be available on Mental First Aid to assist others in crisis situations. Visit the Health Ministry table in the Community Room on January 19. (Also plan to join the Health Ministry team from 12:00 PM – 12:30 PM in the Parlor if you’re interested in volunteering on the team).
